Position: Sales & Purchasing Manager
Location: Grimsby
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 (Depending on experience)
Shift: No fixed hours (typically between 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with longer days on Mondays).
Contract: Permanent
Start date: ASAP
About the Role
Our client is a well-established and rapidly expanding business in the food manufacturing sector. They are seeking a committed and driven individual to take on a key management role focused on sales, purchasing, and costings, with additional responsibilities covering senior management duties during absences.
This is a challenging and hands-on position, ideal for someone with commercial acumen, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Early starts and flexibility are essential, and a willingness to support operational teams when needed is key.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the sales, purchasing, and costing functions
Provide support and cover for senior management when required
Deliver accurate pricing and cost analysis
Work independently while contributing effectively to a small team
Assist with operational duties during busy periods
Support the ongoing growth and efficiency of the business
Key Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant commercial or operational role
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
Strong computer literacy
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities
Self-motivated, reliable, and adaptable
Willingness to work early hours and stay until tasks are complete
Comfortable working in a hands-on and physically active environment
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, supply chain management, or finance (desirable).
Strong sales, negotiation and communication skills
Background in sales, supply chain management, or team leadership is highly advantageous
