Salary: Up to £31,000 per annum. Location: Home working (UK based), with some travel required. Full time (35 hours per week). Some out of normal hours working may be required. About Us
The successful candidate will be employed by the IUCN UK Peatland Programmes host organisation, The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts. The new team member will be pivotal in the delivery of the Peatland Programmes objectives to champion peatland values. They will have the knowledge and experience to drive peatland restoration in the UK and advocate the benefits of peatlands through partnerships, science, policy, practice, and communication. Our host organisation, The Wildlife Trusts, is a grassroots movement with 944,000+ members, 38,000+ volunteers, 3,600 staff and 600 trustees across 46 independent Wildlife Trusts.
Responsibilities
* Support the operation of the Peatland Code and deliver tangible benefits for UK peatland conservation.
* Administer all Peatland Code projects as they move through the project pipeline, including managing initial enquiries and checking project registrations on the UK Land Carbon Registry.
* Provide oversight of the validation and verification process.
* Develop strong, trusted working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and support the wider team in delivering training on the mechanics of the Peatland Code.
* Contribute to future development needs of the standard and communicate technical information in an accessible way.
Qualifications & Skills
* Exceptional project management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills; ability to digest technical information and present it clearly.
* Willingness to work in a rapidly developing area of voluntary nature markets and collaborate with partner organisations.
