Overview
The post holder will provide specialist behavioural support and advice to smokers who want to quit. They will deliver support through established community groups, one to one and telephone interventions. The role involves working within locally defined areas covering a range of clinics across several settings. It also requires engaging with local partners, stakeholders, and health professionals including GP surgeries and pharmacies to promote the service and raise awareness.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist behavioural support to smokers via community groups, one‑to‑one and telephone interventions.
* Provide support within locally defined areas covering a number of clinics in various settings.
* Promote the service locally by engaging with partners, stakeholders, and health professionals, ensuring high activity levels and service awareness.
* Accurately record client information and input it onto the bespoke smoking cessation database in a timely manner.
* Negotiate and influence people at all levels, maintaining professional accountability for the services delivered.
* Work evenings and Saturdays as required, and manage work within clearly defined policies while remaining largely self‑directed.
* Adopt a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service as they arise.
Qualifications & Requirements
Welsh skill level is desirable but not essential. Candidates who can speak and listen at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) will be considered an advantage for short‑listing.
