Neway International have a vacancy for a Technical Lead – Unified Communications to join our client based with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council. Start Date: 26 October 2025. Duration: Until 1 January 2026 (Temporary – Peak in Workload). Hours: 37 per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00). Rate: £193.00 PAYE / £255.67 Ltd/Umbrella (Day Rate).
Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead – Unified Communications to support a critical period of increased workload. This is a hands-on technical role focused on managing and maintaining the Council’s ICT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Unified Communications.
Responsibilities
* Lead the operational support of Unified Communications infrastructure across the Council
* Manage and maintain network switches, Wi-Fi systems, and firewall configurations
* Oversee patching schedules and ensure compliance with internal and external standards
* Collaborate with ICT teams and external suppliers to resolve complex technical issues
* Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and change management records
* Support the design and development of future-proof ICT communications services
* Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies and security best practices
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in Unified Communications and ICT infrastructure management
* Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN, telephony systems, firewalls, and network security
* Ability to lead technical operations and collaborate across teams
* Experience in patch management and compliance monitoring
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
* Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., ITIL, PRINCE2, HNC in IT or equivalent) desirable
