Overview
South Lanarkshire Council is looking for an experienced Electrician to support the delivery of electrical works within Building Services. This role involves new build, refurbishment, maintenance and a Testing and Inspection programme across the council’s portfolio in South Lanarkshire.

Location and Hours
Hamilton Business Unit.
Hours: 37 hours per week, permanent.
Work pattern: Monday‑Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Friday 8:00 am – 1:30 pm.
Salary
£39,856 – £40,995 per year.
Responsibilities
* Carry out all associated electrical works including new build, refurbishment, maintenance and a Testing and Inspection programme.
* Manage varied workloads and work to targets and pre‑determined timescales.
* Travel throughout South Lanarkshire to deliver services at different sites.
* Maintain health and safety awareness and comply with relevant regulations.
* Participate in testing and inspection to current regulations with suitable qualifications.
Qualifications and Experience
* Time‑served with trade qualifications within your relevant discipline – SVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds.
* Demonstrated practical technical competencies in managing and delivering electrical jobs.
* Experience in either commercial or domestic properties within the construction industry.
* Ability to demonstrate commitment to customer care and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience of working to targets and pre‑determined timescales.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace.
Additional Requirements
* Ability to travel throughout South Lanarkshire.
* Must attend a Health Check if recommended for appointment.
* Applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years must provide an Overseas Criminal Records Check, translated into English and verifying no criminal history.
