About The Role
The Head of Cyber and IT is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing both Cloud Operations and Internal IT Management. This role ensures the secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure necessary to support the company's SaaS platforms and internal teams. The position bridges cybersecurity, cloud reliability, and IT service delivery, playing a crucial role in enabling growth and compliance in a global environment.
Responsibilities
* Cloud Operations:
o Oversee cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure and Oracle Cloud) for availability, scalability, and performance.
o Manage Cloud Operations practices including monitoring and automation.
o Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to support secure and reliable deployments.
o Provision, support & maintain required cloud services for development, test and QA.
o Implement cloud cost optimization strategies.
* Cybersecurity:
o Ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) and internal policies for cloud and IT environments.
o Lead incident response, vulnerability management, and threat detection using SIEM tools, MDR and antivirus platforms.
o Secure and implement policies and procedures for disaster recovery and business continuity.
o Work with the CTO and executive team to embed security into all operations (DevSecOps).
* IT Management:
o Lead internal IT support, device management, enterprise system administration and SaaS tooling.
o Manage identity and access controls (IAM), endpoint security, and network infrastructure.
o Identify, implement and operationalize hardware environment improvements.
o Develop and enforce IT policies, onboarding/offboarding procedures, and asset tracking.
* Leadership & Strategy:
o Build and lead a small but scalable team across IT and Cloud Operations.
o Align with DevOps on roadmaps for infrastructure maturity and security posture.
o Vendor and license management.
o Lead audit and compliance initiatives.
o Alignment and coordination with Head Office (Carina) IT.
Experience
* 10+ years in IT operations, cloud infrastructure, or cybersecurity roles.
* Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure and Oracle) and DevOps tools.
* Experience managing IT systems in a fast‑paced SaaS environment.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field – extensive work experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
* Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, expert level Azure, or similar are a plus.
* Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, FedRAMP).
Competencies
* Advanced knowledge of cyber security.
* Excellent leadership, communication, cross‑functional collaboration and mentoring skills.
