Our Client, a Greater Manchester council is seeking a Children’s Independent Reviewing Officer to join their Team.

Responsibilities of this role:
* Chair Looked After Child (LAC) reviews and ensure care plans are appropriate, timely, and meet the child’s needs.
* Monitor the implementation of care plans and escalate concerns where progress is insufficient.
* Ensure compliance with statutory guidance, including the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations, and IRO Handbook.
* Advocate for the child’s voice to be central in all decision-making processes.
* Challenge local authority practice where necessary to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
* Maintain accurate records of reviews and decisions, ensuring timely reporting.
* Work collaboratively with social workers, managers, and multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for children.
* Provide advice and guidance on care planning and permanency options.
Requirements of this role:
* Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
* Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
