Salary: £55,263.09 - £60,462.77 per year

Working Pattern: 36 Hours per week

Location: Based in Glenrothes with the ability to work throughout Fife


What You’ll Be Doing

You will lead and manage a newly formed Continuing Care/UASC team who will offer trauma-informed, person-centred support.

* Promote the use of Continuing Care to provide stability, security, and support to young people, ensuring a smooth transition to adulthood for care-experienced young people.
* Provide consultations for Children and Families Social Work teams to promote continuing care planning, ensuring the young person fully understands their rights.
* Ensure every young person has a pathway assessment that identifies needs and a plan to enable independent living.
* Manage and maintain budgets with budgetary responsibility for continuing care and UASC funding provided by the Scottish Government/Home Office.
* Establish links with the Family Based Care team to coordinate planning when young people are in continuing care.
* Promote stability within continuing care arrangements and provide scaffolding when additional support is required.
* Develop groupwork programmes to assist young people in preparing for independent living and transitioning out of continuing care.
* Establish links with adult services for care and support post-21 years.
* Maintain accurate data around Continuing Care and UASC and submit responses to the Scottish Government and the Home Office as required.
* Develop creative interventions for the UASC population focused on community integration and opportunities in Scotland.
* Drive forward Fife’s 3-year UASC strategy and embed it within the team.
* Establish a Youth Advisory Group to shape future strategies and policies.
* Develop group work opportunities for UASC, including activities such as cooking classes, life skills, employability classes, and budgeting.
* Lead engagement with local communities, services, and third-sector groups to support an inclusive approach to integration.
* Lead on collaboration with colleagues and partners to improve outcomes for young people and ensure they receive the services they need.
* Directly manage a team of Social Work Assistants and Support Workers, supported by Senior Practitioners in various management tasks.


What We’re Looking For

* A confident and motivated leader who can drive the improvement agenda and manage a newly formed team. You will need:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with SSSC.
* Significant experience within Children and Families Social Work.
* Experience with care-experienced children/young people and understanding of the impact of care.
* Relevant post-qualifying award.
* Ability to manage people, casework, assessments/planning/delivery within timescales.
* Excellent presentation, organisational, time management, written and communication skills.
* Ability to develop team plans and motivate, support, and champion good practice within your team.
* Ability to work effectively with colleagues and partners and to use team performance data to monitor standards and ensure compliance with practice standards and processes.
* Ability to contribute to planning and development of the new team with a focus on embedding relationship-based, trauma-informed practice.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and partners.
* Take on a key role to improve outcomes for young people and ensure they receive the services they require to succeed.
* Direct management of a team of experienced Social Work Assistants and Support Workers, supported by Senior Practitioners.
