Since our formation in 1976 Trackwork has developed into a leading provider of construction and engineering services to the rail network. We provide engineering expertise, Project Management and rail industry services including: Manufacture & sales of permanent way materials, design & installation and maintenance of track and Signalling and Telecoms services. We operate across Network Rail, TfL and privately managed rail infrastructures.
We are currently looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Safe Systems of Work and Track Access Planner
The Role:
The primary function of this role is to support successful project delivery through the efficient planning of engineering access to the rail network. This includes accountability for managing possession, isolation and safe systems of work planning arrangements. The successful candidate will liaise with infrastructure controllers including Network Rail & privately owned infrastructure controllers to facilitate disruptive & non-disruptive track access to achieve compatible worksites within collaborative possessions.
The planner will
· Submit possession requests, manage the possession change control procedure, process isolation requests, carry out possession and isolation de-confliction activities and resolve issues as they arise.
· Arrange and attend pre-possession planning meetings as required including inputting all access at T-meetings to ensure efficient delivery.
· Prepare and present possession, isolation and safe systems of work arrangements for worksites and brief our operational teams.
· Act as Planner in accordance with NR/L2/OHS/019.
The person:
We are looking for a pragmatic solutions driven individual with excellent communication skills. Minimum requirements are:
· Sentinel Personal Track Safety Competence
· Sentinel Safe Systems of Work Planner Competence
· Possession Planning Experience (including experience with isolation, PPS/Rail Hub access arrangements, and coordination with infrastructure controllers)
· Familiar with SSoW planning tools (On Trac)
· Driving Licence
The role will be based at our Doncaster head office, however to ensure support for the wider business there will be a requirement to visit our offices in York, Kettering & London and occasionally operational projects nationwide.
