Empower People. Shape the Future.
Are you passionate about adult learning, coaching, and helping others grow? We’re looking for a Training & Development Lead who thrives on delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences and has a strong background in training, teaching, or coaching.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in education or training delivery—whether in corporate learning, vocational teaching, or coaching—who’s excited to apply their skills in a technical, operational environment. You don’t need to be a wastewater expert; we’ll support you with the technical knowledge. What matters most is your ability to connect, communicate, and inspire.

Please note internally this role is know as: Technical Training Lead

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Deliver practical and classroom-based training sessions

2. Coach individuals and assess their competency

3. Design and improve learning materials with subject matter experts

4. Use tools like Clever Nelly to support competency development

5. Champion inclusive learning practices across all sessions

What You’ll Bring

6. Experience in training, teaching, or coaching adults

7. Strong communication and facilitation skills

8. Ability to simplify complex topics for diverse learners

9. Level 3 qualification (e.g. AET, Business Coaching) or willingness to gain one

10. Passion for helping others succeed

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We’re building a confident, capable workforce—and you’ll be at the heart of that mission.

Package

This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.

So why not engage with us and find out more about this role?

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, because delivering water for life is our core purpose. To achieve this, we need 24/7 support in place to resolve incidents quickly and efficiently. All our employees understand the importance of out-of-hours incident support – because when problems appear, fixing them is our top priority. That’s why our people join together and support when and however needed to make sure our customers get the service they deserve. Joining the Southern Water family means you’ll become part of our incident support team. During your interview, your manager will speak to you about any incident support rotas that apply to your position.
