The Consumer Products division of this local Hasbro entity provides services for the licensing business of Hasbro International Inc. (HII). This is a remote-based role but with the expectation that someone is able to travel to our Uxbridge office as needed.
Main Purpose:
To assume responsibility for the accounting within the Shared Service Centre (“SSC”) for the UK sales market, UK entity, European cost entity, and the large sales entity under the supervision of the Financial Accounting Manager (“FAM”). This includes accounting for US GAAP, statutory accounting, external tax, and VAT reporting for these regions, maintaining internal controls, account analysis, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Be the first point of contact for accounting tasks related to UK sales market, UK trading entity, and European cost entity.
2. Assist with the oversight of the large European sales entity.
3. Manage an associate financial accountant.
4. Support the FAM with other countries within their scope.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in line with US GAAP and corporate policies, covering legal entity and management reporting, including the Hasbro European Trading Company.
Specific Tasks:
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial packages for discussion and resolution.
* Challenge draft templates and pass adjustments as needed.
* Lead meetings with Local Market Finance to discuss updates, issues, and internal controls.
* Review journals prepared by the finance team for accuracy and compliance.
Additional responsibilities include financial accounting work, month-end closing, balance sheet reviews, managing recharges, payroll, VAT, taxes, statutory accounting, audit & SOX compliance, and general oversight to ensure compliance and efficiency.
