Apply now " Job Req ID: 3243 Date: Apr 12, 2024 Tradebe Site: Tradebe Redditch Location: Worcestershire, WOR, GB Department: Transportation Business Line: Environmental Services & Global Functions Transport Manager Description: The role Salary : £36,000p/a Main purpose of job: Responsible for the day to day running of the Transport Operation, this includes the Management of drivers, management of customer collections from acute hospitals through to the small collections at surgeries and dentist etc. Duties/Responsibilities: Ensuring that all vehicles are presented for Service and MOT's in line with the Operator Licence. Ensuring that all vehicle defects are actioned and signed off before the vehicle goes back on the road. Managing driver overtime in line with agreed budget. Check all payroll figures before sending to Payroll in a timely manner each month. Completing all KPI's and presenting them in a timely manner. Chairing monthly drivers meetings Completing all weekly returns and presenting them in a timely manner. Routes to be monitored regularly to maximise capacity and minimise cost. Manage cost control in line with monthly P&L. Manage the OCRS for the site. Manage direct reports such as Drivers Manage and record all fuel usage and reduce where possible. Be responsible for recruitment from interview through to inductions which will be carried out in line with the company procedures. Manage all driver Tachograph infringements and working time directive in line with the sites operator licence and legislation. Work with operations team to manage any waste off site with the use of internal and external trunking. Manage all legal documentation in line with the operator's licence and EU legislation. Work alongside the Plant Manager and participate in daily team briefings with Transport and Plant operations to understand daily challenges. Build team spirt and relations from having a can do attitude and having a hands on approach to the job. Works alongside commercial team to ensure all lines of communication are covered and that any issues are logged and reported back to the customers. Implement and manage all training for direct reports and record and update as necessary. Follow and obey all Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times. Work closely with all suppliers and maintain a good working relationship. To be the first point of contact for all drivers and other direct reports. To cover out of hours calls from drivers and customers within reason. Manage all HR issues in line with company policy for reporting staff. Control and raise all purchase orders for department. To develop your team of drivers and operational reports with continued managing, monitoring and identifying individual training needs. Continue to help improve the operational by strategic thinking and planning. Develop relationships with existing and new customers by monitoring expectations and attending meetings with commercial team members. The person Excellent communication skills Customers relations Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word Experience of running a multi vehicle transport fleet Experience of Managing drivers Knowledge of the UK road network
