The roleWe are seeking an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the Early Years team on a full-time, long-term basis for the entire academic year starting September 2026.This role is ideal for a confident and proactive individual who has a solid background in Early Years and is passionate about supporting young children in their formative stages of development.
Key responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in delivering a creative and engaging EYFS curriculum
* Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and development
* Assist with planning and setting up stimulating activities across all areas of learning
* Support children's social, emotional and communication development
* Carry out observations and contribute to assessments in line with EYFS requirements
* Encourage positive behaviour and independence
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming classroom environment
* Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Requirements
* Previous experience working in an Early Years setting is essential
* Relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 in Childcare or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
* Experience supporting children with a range of needs, including EAL (desirable in a diverse setting)
* A positive, patient and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to use initiative and adapt to a busy classroom environment
