Join to apply for the SEND Teacher role at Targeted Provision.

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Berkshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Berkshire. At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma‑informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and require support in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities

* Plan each session of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring
* Provide holistic and engaging sessions meeting needs and supporting educational and social-emotional progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress


SEN / SEND Tutor requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including remote/online assignments

It is a strict requirement to promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies at all times.


SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status

* Engage with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* No guaranteed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
