Salary: circa A GBP 40,000 - A GBP 45,000 per year

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (4.30pm Finish on Fridays)

The Role

Responsibilities
* To promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business by developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive HSE management system.
* To develop a program of work to include, but not limited to, health and safety audits, inspections, and assessments of all company assets across the business.
* Provide advice, guidance, and support to senior management, middle management, and employees concerning all health and safety-related matters.
* Lead investigations of any incidents and accidents throughout the company to ensure that lessons are learnt, actions are taken to prevent reoccurrence and mitigate risk.
* Maintain all relevant paperwork on all accidents and incidents and provide reports and feedback.
* Identify training needs of employees for all equipment throughout the business.
* Ensure that the business has a range of toolbox talk packs and that management and supervisors are trained to conduct such talks.
* Identify training needs of employees and management on relevant health and safety legislation.
* Lead and chair all health and safety meetings, presenting advice and interpretation on standards, legislation, and procedures.
* Provide management summaries of compliance against applicable legislation.
* Provide reports on the following, but not limited to, near misses, accident frequency, and types of injury.
* Develop and maintain H and S guidance notes, policies, and procedures.
* Ensuring the safe installation of any equipment and overseeing external installations and contractors, to include but not limited to compiling Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Design Risk Assessments, and ensuring H and S compliance for all services and installations.
Skills And Qualifications
* Proven experience in HSE management within a manufacturing environment
* NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5/6 in Occupational Health and Safety
* Senior leadership team experience is preferable
* Excellent communications and leadership skills, with familiarity with coaching and mentoring others
* Good at influencing at all levels and nurturing relationships
* Team Player with a hands-on, can-do attitude
