WESTERN ISLES DENTAL CENTRE
DENTAL RECEPTIONIST
Band 2 £25,694 to £27,900 pro rata
Distant Islands Allowance £1,406 pro rata
18 hours per week
Fixed Term Post for 12 months
Join our dedicated team at the Western Isles Dental Centre as a member of the Public Dental Service and play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you’ll provide a professional and welcoming reception service, manage appointment bookings, and support the smooth running of our clinics.
What you’ll do:
* Schedule and manage patient appointments using the EXACT system
* Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries with professionalism and empathy
* Process payments and maintain accurate patient records
* Support urgent dental triage and coordinate with clinical teams
* Ensure compliance with NHS confidentiality, data protection, and health & safety standards
What we’re looking for:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Competent with IT systems and keyboard use
* Be professional, courteous and patient focussed
* Have a calm and professional manner, being able to manage challenging situation
* Well organised with time management skills
* Previous reception or administrative experience, particularly in a health care setting, is desirable
You’ll be part of a friendly, patient-focused team committed to improving oral health across the Western Isles.
