What’s in it for you? £23,000 per annum Long-term, stable position Full training on gantry milling machines and overhead cranes Excellent career progression opportunities 4-day working week alternate Friday mornings Your Role as an Engineering Operative As an Engineering Operative, you will support machining operations and work with heavy steel components, developing your skills in a busy engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Assisting with and operating heavy gantry milling machines Using overhead cranes to move large steel components Supporting machining and fabrication processes Reading basic engineering drawings Using measuring tools such as micrometres and verniers Maintaining a safe and clean working environment Following all health and safety procedures What We’re Looking For Basic understanding of engineering or machining principles Engineering qualification or apprenticeship (preferred) Experience using micrometres and verniers (advantageous) Keen interest in engineering and manufacturing Willingness to learn and develop skills Reliable and hardworking attitude Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 6:00pm Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm (every other week) This Engineering Operative role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a long-term career in engineering, with full training provided for the right candidate.
