Lead Developer - .NET - £70,000 - £75,000 Basic + 10% bonus - Manchester City Centre, Hybrid
There are 2 things you don't see before you join a business as a Software Engineer: culture and the codebase.
Well... let me put you at ease.
I have placed 7 Devs here personally, from Mid, Senior to Lead, and they all say it is the best place they have worked (cringe/cliché but true). Also, the average tenure for their team of 30 Devs is about 4-5 years.
These Devs all came from places in Manchester that are considered to have "great devs", so the codebase must be somewhat decent. I am not saying it is perfect, because what codebase is?
Everywhere has a different definition for what a Lead Engineer/Technical Lead is.
Their definition (in simple terms):
* 30% - Architecture
* 30% - Mentoring a team of 5 developers alongside your Engineering Manager
* 40% - Hands-on coding
All Lead Developers at this place get a considerable amount of time to code and have consistent exposure to architecture.
A lot of the work you will be doing is working on the greenfield project they are about to start, as well as breaking down a massive monolith into microservices.
Tech you will be working with on day one is: .NET 8, AWS, SQL with Event-Driven Architecture, Microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC with Terraform.
* Ranging from £70,000 - £75,000 Basic
* 10% bonus
* 6% pension matched (12% total)
* Hybrid Manchester (2 days a week in the office)
* Flexi working (you can start between 7am - 10am and finish accordingly – 37.5 hour working week)
* Training budget
* State-of-the-art equipment
