Job Role: Stores Operative
Location: HMP Huntercombe
Contract: Full Time - Perm (39hrs)
We are seeking a dedicated Stores Operative to join our team at HMP Huntercombe, a category C male prison. The Facilities Maintenance Team supports the safe and smooth operation of the site, and every role contributes to a secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.
Join a team that collaborates to create a safe and nurturing environment. The role offers the opportunity to work with experienced colleagues across trades and support functions, including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators.
GFSL is a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS. We are seeking a Stores Operative with a combination of the following qualifications and attributes.
Responsibilities
Note: The role description focuses on the responsibilities implied by the position within the Facilities Maintenance Team and support to operations at HMP Huntercombe.
* Support the Stores function as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team to ensure secure and efficient operation of the site.
* Coordinate with trades and administrative colleagues to maintain stock, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance and operations.
* Contribute to a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Fork Lift Truck Certificate (desirable)
* Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (desirable)
* Full driving licence (preferably with D1)
* HGV Licence (desirable)
* Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
