Filmbankmedia provides licensing for film screenings outside cinemas and homes in environments such as outdoor screenings, community cinemas, film clubs, hotels, hospitals, coaches, trains, schools, pubs, bars, care homes, and more.
Filmbankmedia operates in the UK and internationally. It is based in London, with new business representatives in the LATAM and SEA regions.
Your new role…
The successful applicant will assist both the Head of Legal and the Director of Content and Acquisitions. The core business is acquisition and licensing of audiovisual entertainment, primarily feature films from Filmbankmedia’s licensors—including Sony, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, UIP and others—in non‑theatrical markets worldwide. The legal department works closely with lawyers and other personnel from these studios. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a key legal role in the film industry.

Filmbankmedia’s business is international; you will deal with legal issues across Europe, the Far East, and particularly Latin America. The acquisitions team works closely with studio and producer partners, acquiring content for our extensive repertoire.

* Support the Director of Content and Acquisitions—providing legal advice, contract reviews and document management;
* Manage Filmbankmedia’s business affairs in Latin America—an expanding market, especially in overland transport, hospitals, and universities, where relationships with partner companies, collective management organisations and customers are essential;
* Support Sales—providing legal advice on customer licence agreements, drafting amendments and renewals;
* Manage contract administration and template updates;
* Support Marketing—providing legal advice on website issues and social media;
* Assist with general office legal issues, including company policies;
* Manage external and overseas legal counsel, particularly in Latin America and Germany.
Qualifications & Experience…
* UK qualified solicitor with at least a first experience (a paralegal with relevant experience in a law firm or media company will be considered);
* Experience in drafting and negotiation;
* Working knowledge of intellectual property law, especially copyright;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to contribute to company activities;
* Enthusiasm, dynamism and self‑motivation;
* The ability to take on tasks independently and seek guidance where necessary;
* A keen interest in movies and the film industry;
* Familiarity with technology and digital delivery of content;
* Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges;
* Business‑proficient Spanish and/or Portuguese would be very useful.
Hybrid Working – This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, combining remote and in‑office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to applicable laws, WBD reserves the right to change this working agreement where essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice.
