Overview
The North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in the Integrated Enfield Learning Disabilities Service in a community-based post. This full-time post offers 10 Programmed Activities per week: 7.5 PAs for direct clinical care (DCC) and up to 2.5 PAs for supporting professional activity (SPA). The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership and participate in related management activities, playing an integral role in team performance, service development, and the creation of clinical pathways and priorities.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
* To manage, appraise and give professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed with the medical director and in accordance with the Trust\'s policies and procedures.
* To ensure that junior doctors are compliant with the Working Time Directive.
* To comply with procedures for reporting concerns about professional conduct or competence of medical or other colleagues.
* To comply with GMC and Royal College of Psychiatrists principles of practice; maintain GMC registration and Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval; abide by professional codes of conduct.
* To demonstrate compliance with legal obligations covering clinical practice (e.g., Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, The Children Act).
* To participate in annual appraisal for consultants and in annual job plan reviews with the Clinical Director and Service Manager.
* To attend and participate in the Trust\'s academic program, including internal CPD lectures and seminars.
* To comply with Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD requirements.
* To undertake administrative duties related to patient care; to record clinical activity accurately and submit promptly to the Information Department.
* To comply with confidentiality, safe discharge procedures, and Trust procedures involving users and carers; promote equitable access for people from all ethnic groups.
* To ensure effective multidisciplinary working and contribute to service management and financial planning.
* To maintain good relationships with primary care, the CCG, Social Services and the voluntary sector.
Eligibility and requirements
* Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise from the GMC at the intended start date
* Included on the GMC LD Specialist Register OR within six months
* Approved clinician; Section 12 Approval
* Desirable: in good standing with GMC; holds a valid UK driving licence or provide evidence of proposed alternative
Clinical skills, knowledge and experience
* Excellent knowledge in the specialty; strong biopsychosocial perspective
* Excellent clinical skills; able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
* Excellent oral and written communication in English; able to integrate evidence and team input
* Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA
* Desirable: wide range of specialist/subspecialist NHS experience
Academic and lifelong learning
* Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training; able to work in and lead a team
* Commitment to shared leadership and collaborative improvement; experience in research or service evaluation
