Main duties of the job
As a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician, you will be expected to bring excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining precision in all dispensary-related tasks. The role will involve both inpatient and outpatient dispensary services, and you will work closely with the Dispensary Manager to enhance and promote an excellent service for all patients.
You will be responsible for:
• Collaborating with the Dispensaries Manager to develop and promote high-quality services for both Inpatient and Outpatient dispensaries.
• Ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, as well as
performing checking duties in line with the highest standards of practice.
• Contributing to continuous service improvements and the effective use of new technologies and systems.
• Maintaining compliance with all pharmacy policies, procedures, and legislation.

Person specification
Education and Qualification
* Level 3 National Certificate in Pharmacy Services that is recognised as part of the new integrated education standards for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent
* Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council
* Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Accredited checking technician (ACPT) certificated by a nationally approved course provider e.g. HEE/UEA (Community based qualifications will be considered on merit and course content)
Knowledge and Experience
* Proven track record in Pharmacy
* Previous experience in community or hospital pharmacy
* Knowledge of Pharmacy Computer Systems (training available)
* Knowledge of requirements for maintaining confidentiality and accurate record keeping
* Previous experience of managing and supervising staff
Key Skills
* Good customer care skills
* Communicates well with good listening skills
* Demonstrate initiative
* Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
