At Prospero Teaching, we are looking for dedicated and compassionate Tutors to join our growing team in Andover and nearby areas this September.
We support young people who may have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Tutor, you’ll provide 1:1 tuition, helping learners re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
As a Tutor, you will:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
2. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
3. Record student progress and report on this weekly.
4. Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
5. Record attendance.
6. Be organised, dependable and creative.
7. Be calm, fair and adaptable.
About you:

9. Patient, kind and understanding
10. Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
11. Organised
12. Comfortable to support secondary aged pupils with English, Maths and possibly Science too or comfortable to Mentor young people.
13. Have experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
14. Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
15. Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
16. Hold right to work in the UK
17. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
18. Provide references upon request
19. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
