Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Orthotist based at University Hospital Crosshouse.

What You Will Do

This role is for an Orthotist within the NHS A&A Orthotics Team. The service is responsible for the delivery of outpatient and inpatient Orthotic care to all adults living within the NHS A&A catchment area. We deliver outpatient and inpatient care to Children and Young People in A&A Sector.

We provide service on 2 acute sites and to other outlying units on demand. We aim to deliver a timely, high quality, patient centred service to all our

service users in line with NHS A&A Caring for Ayrshire strategy. We use the evidence wherever possible to ensure we are delivering the most up to date care for our patients. The service receives over 7500 new outpatient referrals each year and has a staff of around 9 which include Orthotists, Orthotic Clinical Assistants, Orthotic Administrators and an Orthotic Clinical/Team Lead.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job


* Honours Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or equivalent
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of relevant post graduate CPD if graduated more than 6 months previous

New graduate applications are welcomed, and individuals will be given support to ensure they are developed in line with their current level of knowledge and experience. Our team has a strong focus on Learning and development in and we provide in house training and support external training opportunities for all staff to develop in line with their career stage. Key attributes for this post will be your excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Active participation in inservice training and a contribution to service improvement is encouraged with a key focus to optimise the patient journey.
