Legal Reporter Position
If you have been called to the bar or are a qualified solicitor and are looking for a change of pace, you might find the opportunity to become a valued law reporter intriguing. Our client is a prestigious legal publisher with an international readership, seeking a law reporter to attend hearings and record notes on ground-breaking judgments, summaries, and rulings.
You will need to take initiative and liaise confidently with management regarding whether cases are worthy of publishing and the allocation of time/resources. Responsibilities include proofreading, editing, and formatting judgments into the in-house style, and maintaining communication with judges and court staff for approval of reports.
Exceptional written and communication skills are essential, along with strong organizational skills to manage your time efficiently, meet deadlines, and handle administrative tasks such as archiving cases. A comprehensive understanding of legal judgments and the ability to communicate them concisely in writing are required. Only candidates who are qualified solicitors or have been called to the bar (pupillage not essential) will be considered.
The role offers considerable flexibility, including court attendance where necessary, and includes excellent pension arrangements.
