Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH (following successful completion of a 3-month probation)
Description
Our Engineereing consultancy client is looking for an experienced HVAC Designer to join a dynamic and collaborative design and project team delivering technically complex projects within the pharmaceutical sector. The role offers exposure to a wide range of environments, from sensitive research and laboratory spaces to large-scale cleanroom and sterile manufacturing facilities.
You will play a key role in developing compliant, high-quality HVAC designs, working closely with clients, specialist suppliers, and internal teams. While the role is primarily office-based, site visits will be required to support surveys and project delivery when necessary.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Develop HVAC design solutions aligned with client requirements and project specifications
Work closely with specialist suppliers and internal project teams to deliver integrated design solutions
Attend client meetings to present, review, and refine design proposals
Produce accurate, high-quality design and technical documentation to support installation and construction
Ensure all designs comply with current legislation, standards, and industry best practice
Carry out site surveys and provide technical input as required
Review supplier and subcontractor quotations
Prepare procurement schedules and support purchasing activities
Support projects through all design and procurement stages
Contribute to design risk assessments and ensure compliance with CDM regulations
Provide technical information to support statutory authority submissionsDuties -

Above-ground drainageQualifications
Minimum HNC in Building Services Engineering (degree preferred)
3–4 years’ HVAC design experience
Experience delivering turnkey building services projects
Background in pharmaceutical or healthcare environments, including laboratories and cleanrooms
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Plant3D
Strong understanding of CDM regulations and design risk assessments
Confident presenting technical designs in client meetings
Customer-focused with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders
