What matters to us
* Previous experience gained in a Buying/Procurement role.
* Aspiring to or already working towards CIPS qualification.
* Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Solid product and supplier knowledge.
* A working knowledge of contracts.
* Experience gained within a construction/engineering environment.
Your contribution to our company
* Provide market competitive procurement solutions for the operating unit which demonstrate best overall value for money.
* Provide an effective and professional service in the procurement of materials.
* Construction stage project procurement for Project Leader, including: -▪ Supporting the production and driving of the procurement schedule -▪ Supporting the development of work package documents in conjunction with project teams -▪ Work package procurement.
* Support the supply chain management activities, including structuring the supply chain.
* Support activities that generate and encourage an efficient, productive and continuously improving supply chain performance.
* Support the group procurement functional goals and objectives within the region.
* Ensure supplier evaluation forms and risk assessments are maintained.
* Demonstrate best overall value for money in the procurement recommendations.
* Ensure a robust negotiation process is applied in the engagement process.
* Ensure contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive and protect the business in its dealings with suppliers.
* Ensure decisions are not focused upon lowest price but overall best value for money.
* Support the development of an accredited and structured supply chain that is aligned to the regional demands and overall strategy.
* Input to the monitoring of the marketplace to ensure awareness of pricing trends, risks and opportunities.
* Continuously seek out and assess new supply chain members to meet regional project demand.
* Support the monitoring of the supply chain performance, workload and financial status to protect the corporate position.
* Support the development of the supply chain, products and innovations that bring cost and/or buildability benefits.
