Clinical Pharmacist Band 6 to 7 Progression
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our expanding pharmacy team, which includes innovative roles such as Independent Prescribers and Consultant Pharmacists, to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across community health and mental health specialities.
Responsibilities
* Attend ward rounds and provide patient counselling.
* Respond to clinical queries across community health services and mental health services.
* Deliver medicines optimisation and manage co‑morbid presentations through a rotational programme.
* Support inpatient frailty wards, hospital discharge services, stroke rehabilitation, diabetes, respiratory and palliative care.
* Support adult and older adult mental health services including inpatient wards, psychiatric liaison, psychiatric intensive care, forensic, learning disabilities, perinatal and community teams.
* Support child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) in both inpatient and community settings.
* Participate in teaching, quality improvement and postgraduate study.
Qualifications
* Newly qualified pharmacist, band 6 or equivalent.
* Hospital and/or mental health experience desirable but not essential.
* Ability to demonstrate skills and experience at band 7 level may lead to direct appointment at band 7.
* Willingness to engage in in‑house training and development programme.
Development & Support
We have developed a bespoke training package to aid development and you will be supported by a clinical supervisor during the provision of a clinical pharmacy service.
The base for this role will be Goodmayes Hospital, Barley Lane, Ilford, with periodic travel to other sites around NELFT.
Benefits
High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 per annum). Probationary period applies.
