Responsibilities
The post is a part-time role (26.25 hours per week) as a Specialist Physiotherapist, focused on vascular and amputee patients. You will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy support staff to provide high quality therapy, support vascular patients on acute wards, pre- and post-operatively, and in the Therapy Out-patient gym. The role involves delivering person-centred care across a 7-day service, early assessment, complex discharge planning, and follow-up in the Therapy Out-patient setting for those undergoing prosthetic rehabilitation. You will be part of a larger Therapy services department and may participate in in-service training and supervision of student therapists. Flexible working is required due to 7-day service delivery, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
* Proven experience working with vascular and amputee patients (ideally in an acute hospital setting), with broader experience in related areas such as orthopaedics, respiratory care or neurology.
* Understanding and knowledge of complex equipment, including wheelchairs.
* Evidence of providing teaching to the wider MDT, therapy teams and students.
* Clear, expressed desire in your application to work at UHS and in this clinical area.
* Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
* Current HCPC registration.
* Experience with a variety of physical and mental health conditions/multiple pathology.
* Experience working with support staff and within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Evidence of continuing professional development and experience managing a caseload independently.
* Previous experience in the relevant clinical area and on-call where applicable.
