A K-12 educational institution in Bayfield, WI is seeking a skilled Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for a non-school year (NSY) contract position. This role provides an opportunity to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing by delivering specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
* Adapt curriculum content to meet the communication and learning requirements of students
* Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists to provide comprehensive support
* Utilize assistive technology and communication systems effectively in instruction
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing detailed reports
* Advocate for students needs within the educational setting and communicate with parents and guardians
Desired Qualifications:
* Teaching certification with endorsements in Deaf or Hard of Hearing education
* Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
* Strong understanding of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods preferred
* Knowledge of assistive technology relevant to Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to design engaging, accessible lesson plans that accommodate diverse learners
