We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and dedicated Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to join our pastoral team from September 2025. Based in Rochdale, this role is vital in ensuring the wellbeing, behaviour, and academic progress of a specific year group across the school.
As a Head of Year, you will:
* Provide day-to-day pastoral care, guidance, and support to students in your year group
* Work closely with teaching staff, senior leaders, and parents to ensure excellent attendance, behaviour, and academic engagement
* Lead on interventions, welfare plans, and monitoring of students’ progress
* Be a visible, supportive presence across the school, building strong relationships with students and families
* Champion a culture of high expectations and positive behaviour
This is a non-teaching role, ideal for candidates with experience in youth work, mentoring, education, or pastoral care.
We are looking for someone who:
* Is highly motivated, compassionate, and resilient
* Has experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or pastoral setting
* Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusion
* Can manage sensitive issues with professionalism and care
* Has excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
