The Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering leads a team of pre-sales engineers that are the nexus between sales, solutions consulting, and product management. The Pre-Sales Engineering function is at the center of the PROS go-to-market (GTM) engine and is responsible for the strategic design, configuration, execution, and maintenance of impactful GTM demos, commercial best practices, and sales effectiveness tools to inspire prospects and customers to move towards a better tomorrow and recognize PROS as the best technology and partner in the market.A Day in the Life of the Manager Pre-Sales Engineering - About the role :Collaborate with our sales, solutions consulting, and product teams to ensure compelling technical solutions that demonstrate real value are created and executedManage projects by providing direction on scoping and ensuring process compliance while mitigating riskLead and manage strategic initiatives and special projectsAssist in allocating resources and reporting on utilizationResponsible for maintaining production integrity of demo systemsBuild and cultivate relationships with other teams at PROSIdentify knowledge gaps on team and facilitate trainingConduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports and provide coaching and career developmentAssist with recruiting, onboarding and managing resourcesAdvise the sales and solutions consulting team with winning solution strategies and the demo use cases needed to address specific business problemsSkills and Qualifications - About you :We are looking for candidates who possess the rare combination of the following achievements, skills, and behaviors :Required Skills and Qualifications :5-8 years strongly preferred, 2 years minimum required experience in one or more of the following areas : Team leadership in pre-sales consulting and / or pre-sales engineering in the enterprise software space for a complex software or application provider.Team leadership in configuration and / or implementation in the enterprise software space for a complex software or application provider.Proactive approach to learningSuccessful experience in a "complex sales" environmentExcels individually and in team-driven initiativesTrack record of managing teams who met or exceeded goals.Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or business discipline.Strongly Desired Skills and Qualifications :Knowledge and understanding of PROS solutions and their value propositionsExperience with Pricing and Revenue Optimization TechnologyExperience with CPQ, CRM, ERP, eCommerce TechnologyExperience with Travel and Logistics TechnologyKnowledge of Pricing Practices Across IndustriesBI and Analytics / Reporting ToolsExperience with Database Systems (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Databricks)Experience With Software Testing and DocumentationExperience with Unix based environments and file systems managementExperience with Business Intelligence and Analytics / Reporting ToolsExperience with Cloud ComputingExperience with Microsoft Office SuiteWhy PROS?PROS culture and the truly extraordinary people who work here are at the very core of our success.
