Role: Health and Safety Advisor

Compensation: £40,098 + Benefits
The Health and Safety Advisor will support the delivery of world-class facilities for the Royal Navy’s submarine maintenance operations as part of one of the UK’s largest infrastructure programmes. You will help manage and reduce construction health and safety risks across a complex and high-risk environment, with a focus on protecting lives, improving safety culture, and contributing to national defence.
Responsibilities
* Assisting the Health and Safety Manager in coordinating construction safety implementation across projects.
* Supporting the application of CDM and Safety, Quality and Environmental policies to promote safe working practices.
* Conducting workplace inspections to identify hazards, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with best practices.
* Reviewing contractor health and safety documentation and advising project teams on suitability.
* Contributing to the creation and delivery of Health and Safety Improvement Projects.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential Experience
* Experience working in high-risk construction environments.
Qualifications
* Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate)
* CSCS Card
* Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH, IIRSM)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) / Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role. Many positions are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency.
