Seminar Components remains the sole UK based original designer and manufacturer of action seating mechanisms, leading the market in bespoke lift and recline seating mechanisms.
The Role
Over the last 4 years we have been exporting our product to Europe and consequently, the Company is growing fast. Consequently we are looking for a Manufacturing engineer to own the manufacturing system within the allocated manufacturing cells by the maintenance and continuous improvement of safe and LEAN processes for existing and new products to ensure operations are on time to standard and within budget within the allocated manufacturing cells.
Responsibilities
As the Manufacturing Engineer your key responsibilities will be:
* To drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, cost reduction and process improvement through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and waste prevention and removal.
* To develop, evaluate, improve and document manufacturing processes.
* To develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
* To provide manufacturing engineering support to the manufacturing operational team where needed.
* To implement, own and continuously improve the manufacturing cells LEAN manufacturing processes
* To perform time studies for the manufacturing processes to create the correct routings and to optimize the balancing of the manufacturing process.
* To be accountable for the definition, setup, preparation and optimization of manufacturing tooling, supporting New Product Introduction where required
* To value stream mapping and specification and implementation of in and outbound logistical flows for the manufacturing cells
The person
* Five or more years' experience in an equivalent role
* A Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject
* Strong project management skills and experience, excellent communication and relationship building
* Experience with Manufacturing Simulation Software
* Confident, professional and a hands-on approach
Working hours & environment
You will usually work standard production hours 07:30am to 16:30pm Monday to Thursday and 07:30am to 12:30pm Friday.
Job Offer
A salary of £38,000 to £42,000 (depending on experience)
