Hourly Rate: £15 per hour (PAYE)
Location: Bournemouth and surrounding areas
Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)
Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexible working)
Role Type: One-to-One Support for SEN, SEMH, SEMD, and medical needs
About The Role
Sugarman Health and Wellbeing - Children's Services is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to deliver one-to-one support for children and young people with a range of additional needs. This role involves working in various settings, including homes, schools, and alternative venues, to provide tailored educational and emotional support that helps students re-engage with learning and achieve their goals.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assist students with academic tasks, adapting materials and offering guidance to ensure accessibility
* Encourage participation and build confidence in a calm, non-judgmental environment
* Use creative and practical strategies to manage behaviour and support emotional regulation
* Support communication needs using tools such as visual aids or alternative communication methods
* Help students develop independence and life skills through consistent, positive reinforcement
What We're Looking For
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or similar needs (preferred but not essential)
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with diverse learners
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and professionals
* Flexibility to adapt to individual student needs and different learning environments
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
* Legal right to work in the UK
