An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Surveyor to join our Development Surveying Team at Hampshire County Council.
The Role:
Hampshire 2050 is a Council Directorate with a primary focus on Hampshire as a place, driving forward the Hampshire 2050 Vision and co‑ordinating our efforts within and beyond the County Council to deliver greater impact for our people and community.
The Land and Assets branch of Hampshire 2050 encompasses Development strategy, Asset Strategy, Strategic Asset Management Planning, Strategic Capital Planning and Strategic Development. Land and Assets is a cross‑cutting function that works closely with operational colleagues in Universal Services’ Property Service and operational directorates and their services across the organisation to ensure that the County Council’s land and assets meet the organisation’s strategic and operational needs.
The Development Strategy team provides a coordinated and comprehensive planning and development service and advice to support the disposal of land and building projects of varying size. Central to the work of the team is the County Council’s Strategic Land Programme that comprises 12 sites across Hampshire with the potential to deliver over 10,000 new houses with associated infrastructure and facilities over the next 15‑20‑year period.
As a Senior Development Surveyor you will work across multiple programmes and projects relating to property assets and especially disposals.
What you’ll do:
* Work on your own caseload of property and disposal projects and support other projects, developing and securing approval to planning and disposal strategies for surplus property assets, reporting to a Principal Development Surveyor or the Development Surveying Manager Lead
* You will work as part of multidisciplinary teams of colleagues across the Strategic Land and Development function and other internal and external consultant resources to deliver financial receipt and place‑making outcomes
What we’re looking for:
A Chartered Surveyor (with Full membership of the RICS) who has relevant experience and knowledge of property disposal and residential land valuation and development.
You must be a collaborative individual who works with integrity, respect and wants to help make a difference in the public sector.
Our benefits package includes 25 days (rising to 28 for 5 years or more Local Government service) paid leave plus national holidays, access to the Local Government pension scheme, family friendly policies and interest free travel loans and staff discounts.
We offer a flexible, motivating and inclusive workplace. We have created an environment that you can look forward to being a part of, where you are empowered to be your best and a workplace built on teamwork where people can grow and develop in their roles.
If you think you have what it takes to make a real difference in Hampshire, get in touch!
