Overview
Join the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer in Transport Engineering (Teaching and Research). The role covers teaching and research duties in transport engineering with a focus on emerging technologies such as predictive modelling, real-time traffic analytics, and autonomous vehicle integration. This position aims to contribute to leadership in transport engineering, driving innovation in sustainable mobility and smart infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Undertake high-quality teaching and research in transport engineering.
* Contribute to curriculum design and development at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
* Engage with educational technologies and online delivery methods to support learning.
* Collaborate within a dynamic research environment and contribute to research excellence and leadership where possible.
* Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Work as part of a team and collaborate across disciplines; report to the Head of School; no direct reports.
* Participate in activities that support UNSW’s aims, policies, and health and safety responsibilities.
Qualifications
* A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
* Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
* Experience using or designing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and a commitment to educational excellence.
* Knowledge of industry or work-integrated learning is desirable.
* Ability to support students from diverse backgrounds and promote equity and inclusion.
* Strong research track record with high-quality outcomes and potential for leadership in research.
* Active involvement with the profession/industry and well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication and networking skills; ability to work in a team and across disciplines.
* Understanding of UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, plus relevant policies and guidelines.
* Commitment to health and safety responsibilities and training.

* Level B, Salary - $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full-time
* Fixed-term contract – 4 years
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
