Business Overview
Foundations Child & Family Therapy, founded in 2017, is a child and family therapy clinic offering a multidisciplinary range of support tailored to children and families, including individual and family therapy, parent consultation, schoolbased interventions, ADHD and Autism assessments, and training for partner agencies. We walk alongside children, young people and their families to foster healing, resilience and emotional wellbeing, delivering accessible, evidence-informed care that drives positive outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team of Directors, Clinical Leads, Therapists, Associates, Administrative staff and Supervision Consultants work closely with families, schools and health partners to continually refine clinical pathways and ensure compassionate, high-quality support.

Job Summary
The Assessment Manager is responsible for the effective coordination, oversight and delivery of Foundations' Autism and ADHD assessment service, managing the pathway from pre-assessment through to post-diagnostic followup. The role holder will ensure high-quality, timely and compliant care for children, young people and families, working closely with the Clinical Director, Deputy Clinical Director, clinicians and the administration team to uphold professional and NICE standards.

Principal Accountabilities:
Lead and coordinate the end-to-end delivery of Foundations' Autism and ADHD assessment service, from initial enquiry through to assessment outcomes and feedback. Responsibilities include processing and uploading referrals, managing triage and case allocation, booking and coordinating assessments to meet target timelines, and issuing full diagnostic reports and postdiagnostic information — including interim letters, medication details and referrals.
Provide clear, empathic communication and support to children, families, schools and clinicians, managing enquiries, questionnaires, updates and urgent issues — including notifying clinicians quickly of cancellations or safeguarding concerns.
Oversee administrative and operational workflows, including maintaining accurate records, therapist capacity and waitlists, tracking reports and editors, issuing and tracking invoices and supporting the smooth running of group sessions and wider clinic activities.
Monitor service performance and contribute to quality improvement, supporting data reporting, reviewing feedback trends and helping refine resources, processes and client information to enhance efficiency and client experience.
Uphold safeguarding, GDPR and professional standards, ensuring safe, compliant practice and engaging in ongoing training, supervision and professional development.

Candidate Specification:
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to juggle multiple priorities with confidence. They bring diligence and conscientiousness to everything they do, working flexibly and adapting to changing demands. A genuine team player, they collaborate openly and contribute positively to the wider service. Above all, they work with empathy and compassion, always keeping children and families at the heart of their practice.

1. Essential Requirements:
Relevant professional qualification (or academic equivalent) in a related field such as health, education, social care, counselling, psychology, or business.
Experience of effective multiagency working, including collaboration with schools, healthcare services, and community partners.
Strong understanding of children's emotional wellbeing and mental health, including awareness of neurodevelopmental conditions.
Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, data protection requirements, and information governance standards.
Commitment to inclusive, familycentred practice, ensuring services are accessible, respectful, and responsive to diverse needs.
Right to work in the UK, alongside satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check prior to appointment.

2. Essential Skills:
Strong organisational ability, with confidence managing multiple schedules, waitlists, and competing priorities.
Excellent verbal communication, able to communicate confidently with diverse stakeholders (children, families, schools and professionals) and adapt tone and style to suit the audience.
High-quality written communication, producing clear emails, accurate records, and handling reports with precision.
Competent ICT skills, including confident use of casemanagement systems, Microsoft Office, and videoconferencing tools to organise workflows and share information securely.
Good numeracy and datareporting skills, able to produce basic performance reports, manage invoicing, and ensure numerical information is accurate and up to date.

3. Desirable Requirements:
Further training or qualifications in leadership and management; Autism and ADHD awareness; Safeguarding and child protection.
Experience coordinating or facilitating autism and ADHD assessments.
Experience managing referral pathways or service appointment processes.
Experience contributing to service development, quality assurance, or audit activity.
