An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership Community Macmillan Nursing Team. We have two posts available, one permanent 0.8 WTE covering Lower Marr, and one permanent 0.6 WTE covering Westhill/Stonehaven area. The successful candidates will work as autonomous practitioners providing education, advice and support to patients with both cancer and non-cancer diagnosis, to improve the palliative and end of life provision across Aberdeenshire.
The post holder would play an active role in advancing high quality specialist palliative care services and promoting excellence in end of life care across Aberdeenshire. A broad range of effective communication skills is essential as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
It would be desirable but not essential to hold a current Post Graduate Chemotherapy Course and/or other advanced nursing skills courses such as Non – Medical Prescribing and the Clinical Assessment for Advanced Practitioners.
This role will require post holders to undertake extensive training and courses if qualifications are not held, the successful applicants must be willing to evidence this commitment through recent personal development. The posts are community based and require visiting patients within their own homes or in local community hospitals, it is essential to be a car owner, and hold a Current Full Driving Licence.
