Due to our expanding portfolio and long-term local framework growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) to join our multi-disciplinary UK buildings team in our Birmingham, London or Manchester offices.
If successful you will
Lead functional delivery of multidisciplinary projects, ensuring they meet scope, time, cost, and quality expectations
Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development, resource planning, and continuous improvement
Take ownership of work, guiding others in planning, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring high-quality outputs
Manage client expectations and identify value-adding opportunities
Represent Jacobs in client meetings and contribute to winning future work
Contribute to strategic activities like recruitment, budgeting, and policy development
You will have opportunity to work on new build projects, refurbishments, major infrastructure and multi million pound development schemes
These projects span sectors such as High-rise Residential, District Energy Systems, Aviation, Transport, Energy and Power, Water, Data Centres, Healthcare, and more.
Here's what you'll need
* Degree in Building Services Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* MCIBSE / MIET C Eng accreditation (or actively working towards it)
* Proven project design experience in building services mechanical engineering
* Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, IES VE, and building regulation compliance assessments
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations
* Experience in sustainable technology integration
* Project leadership and people management capabilities
* Excellent technical skills and attention to detail
* Ability to deliver innovative solutions in a multidisciplinary environment
Please note this is a hybrid role requiring 2 to 3 days in the office including client site visits.
