Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the award winning research team as a cardiac physiologist, echocardiologist.

The team supports commercial and non commercial studies giving the residents of Buckinghamshire the opportunity to participate in national and international studies, offering new and novel treatments.

This role will enable the team to be able to offer studies that require echocardiograms. The successful candidate will be an expert in their field, performing echocardiograms and offering their knowledge and guidance to the wider research team and promoting research to our communities, patients and BHT colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Perform echocardiograms for research participants as per protocol

Advise on research protocols

Act as an ambassador for research, promoting studies to communities and colleagues

Scope new studies for participation at BHT

Complete relevant trial documentation

To provide teaching to colleagues in the team and other departments

Person specification

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential criteria

1. ICH- GCP
2. Relevant BSc or equivalent level of knowledge. Professional membership of a relevant professional body obtained by examination eg, BSE
3. Advanced or intermediate life support certification
4. Evidence of continued professional development
5. Must hold or undertake Masters level postgraduate qualification (BSE accreditation)

Experience

Essential criteria

6. Extensive practical experience in technical cardiology for a minimum of 3 years with at least 1 year at a specialist level of independent practice including investigation, interpretation and reporting

Desirable criteria

7. experience in clinical trials

Skills

Essential criteria

8. Ability to be able to prioritise and manage caseload of work
9. Experience of using internal IT systems

10. Line management experience
