Opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join a business where you’ll shape and grow the Health and Safety culture whilst championing change and implementing new systems.
As Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for a busy food manufacturing site you’ll report into the Site Director.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on HSE professional to join a food manufacturing business in a stand-alone role with no direct reports. You’ll work across the business to embed a behaviour-based safety approach that leads to Continuous Improvement and ensures that all health, safety and environment related activates on site comply with all legislative requirements.
Day-to-day you’ll co-ordinate all HSE related activities, you’ll be the initial point of contact across the business (particularly on the production floor), supporting and promoting a culture of safety through 5S Lean Techniques and ongoing coaching. You’ll manage the EHS standards, including ISO and, to keep compliant and focused on best practices along with leading safety-focused projects, delivering EHS standards, including ISO and training, and supporting the management team with legal compliance and specific site initiatives.
This role will suit a safety, health and environment professional who is either based in the York / East Yorkshire area or is able to relocate and has worked within the Food or the FMCG manufacturing sector.
To be considered for this role you will need,
1. Health, Safety and Environment experience gained from the food/FMCG manufacturing sector
2. Proven experience with ISO / and strong auditing skills
3. NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) and ideally a NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety
4. Leadership, clear communication, and team collaboration skills that help drive initiatives forward
5. A proactive and organised approach—you know how to prioritize, adapt, and ensure quality at every level
