Further Information Do you have experience in regulatory, investigatory or compliance work?

Are you proactive and highly organised with a keen eye for detail?

Do you pride yourself in your excellent interpersonal skills, especially in conflict resolution?

Look no further! We are delighted to be seeking a Planning Compliance Officer to join our friendly and forward-thinking team here at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

This fast-paced and varied role sits within our Planning Services Team, within the Inclusive Growth, Planning and Development service area. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the service in investigating and managing a caseload of alleged breaches of planning control.

Our borough is a unique mix of urban settings, market towns, and rural areas, and our team works across commercial, residential, and environmental projects. This variability makes our work fulfilling and rewarding, giving you the opportunity to support us in creating a lasting and visible impact on the communities we serve.

As you’ll be engaging with the public, Council Members, and external stakeholders, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential - especially in conflict resolution and influencing positive outcomes.

3. A customer-focused, proactive approach and ability to manage a diverse caseload.
In return, we offer an excellent total reward package, including:
4. A competitive salary of £34,434 - £37,280
5. 27 days annual leave per year rising to 32 with 5 years service (plus bank holidays). Ability to purchase additional leave is also available.
6. Generous Pension Scheme through the LGPS with ability to pay extra and plan for retirement.
7. Access to a number of other employee benefits including learning & development opportunities, a car lease scheme, discounts at high street and online retailers, an employee assistance programme and physiotherapy services.
And that’s not all – you can also work flexibly where you can work part of your week at home.
