Working Hours:
* Full-time, permanent position
* Average of 38.5 hours per week
* Continental shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off
* Rotating day and night shifts:
* Days: 6:00am – 6:00pm
* Nights: 6:00pm – 6:00am
Job Description:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a skilled engineering team, reporting to the Engineering & Facilities Manager. Your role will be to provide effective maintenance support across all site equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining extrusion and thermoforming machinery to optimum operating standards
* Responding to machine breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective repairs
* Supporting and contributing to the planned preventative maintenance programme
* Identifying root causes of recurring issues and implementing corrective actions
* Prioritising workload in line with engineering guidelines and business needs
* Liaising with engineering stores to ensure critical spare parts are available
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site
Skills & Experience:
* Multiskilled maintenance engineer with a strong electrical bias (approximately 60% electrical / 40% mechanical)
* Completed a recognised apprenticeship or formal City & Guilds qualification
* Up-to-date knowledge of relevant electrical regulations
* Proven fault-finding and diagnostic capability
* Experience working with PLCs and control panels
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on own initiative
* Good IT skills, attention to detail, and physical fitness
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
