About the role
This is a very exciting time to join us following the recent creation of Optoma Holding based in the UK to bring together our global regions, as we improve our infrastructure, systems and processes. With such exciting change, and with Optoma Europe playing a pivotal role in the transformation, this role allows the candidate the chance to develop conformance skills within the display industry with the ultimate goal of ensuring exceptional product performance quality throughout the product life-cycle, while working within a very positive, growing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluation of product throughout the product life cycle, isolation and resolution of non-compliance issues.
* Establish compliance test standards, perform diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting, and analyse findings.
* Devise, research and create new compliance policies. As Optoma products develop, new ways of testing will be required.
* Liaise with the EA team and the factory/development team in Taiwan and frequently update all stakeholders.
* Maintain the internal bug reporting platform to improve product performance and issue transparency. This will aid all interested parties to quickly identify ongoing and/or repeated issues.
* Revision of technical documents during testing stage.
* Communicate with the Technical Service Centre and customer service team to increase awareness of product quality and improvements.
* Internal housekeeping of product technical data.
* Provide 3 rd line customers support for hardware and software issues.
* Testing and reviewing new software solutions.
* Provide regular executive reporting.
* Point of contact for ad-hoc projects.
* Support of key events.
About You
Key Skills & Experience:
* Passion for display technologies; Projection, LED displays and Interactive Flat panels in particular.
* Understanding of control systems such as RS232, TCP/IP, Crestron, AMX, Telnet, Control 4, Extron, etc. and the ability to perform diagnostics.
* Understanding of DLP, LED, LCD, Interactive Displays and Commercial displays, applications and installations.
* Technical knowledge of various components used in AV installation environments:
* AV distribution & related cabling.
* Understanding of Bluetooth and wireless audio connectivity.
* Understanding of PC/Visual collaboration system.
* Creation of technical media (standard operating procedures) to assist the Technical Service Centre and EMEA technical specialists.
* Detail oriented, with appreciation for deadlines is essential.
* Strong communication, interpersonal skills, flexible and ability to work independently.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritise their importance is required.
* Assertive, engaging, communicative and confident personality.
* Team player who is driven, adaptable and dynamic.
* Technically and numerically astute.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Excel.
* Negotiation / influencing and relationship skills.
* Problem solving & organisational skills.
* Proven ability to work across broad territories and across cultures.
* Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, AV Technology, or a related technical field.
* Experience of product development.
* ISF certification.
* Awareness of relevant electronic product safety regulation and certification (CE, ErP, LVD, RoHS(EEE) etc.)
* Fluent in other European languages or Mandarin language is a plus
