Grounds Maintenance Operative (Salary £26435 - £28435) (Monday – Friday, 39 hours per week) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join out Isle of Wight team, reporting to the Composting and Waste Manager. The successful candidate with primarily support grounds maintenance activities during the main season, ensuring our sites are maintained to a high standard. This role also offers the chance to develop new skills and gain valuable experience that supports long-term career progression within our organisation. Responsibilities and duties – You will be involved in a wide range of grounds maintenance activities, including but not limited to: -Grass cutting (using strimmer’s and lawn mowers) -Hedge trimming -Operating tractors -Waste collection and recycling across multiple sites Core responsibilities -Maintain all grounds and outdoor areas to a consistently high standard -Service, clean and maintain all equipment provided -Complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes -Follow all company Health & Safety requirements -Work effectively as part of a team Required -Full driving licence Desirable Qualifications Certificates of competency in horticultural/agricultural equipment such as: - Telescopic Handler - Industrial Lift Truck - Chainsaw operation - Waste management qualification (WAMITAB) Skills -Basic agricultural and mechanical knowledge -Strong self-motivation and proactive attitude -Competent machinery operation skills -Good communication abilities and commitment to performance targets -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience -At least one year’s experience driving tractors and trailers -Experience using hedge trimmers, mowers, strimmer’s, ride on mowers, and similar equipment How to Apply Please send your Curriculum Vitae and a covering letter explaining your suitability for the position to: Nicky Richardson – nicky.richardson@apsgroup.uk.com Closing date for Applications: Wednesday 25th March 2026
