Overview
Our client is a subsidiary of a real estate investment firm with over $10.2 billion in assets under management. They oversee the planning, development, and management of a diverse real estate portfolio in Southwest Montana, including residential, hospitality, commercial, and workforce housing assets. The firm is leading the next phase of Big Sky’s Town Center development and has active projects including a hotel in downtown Bozeman and long-term planning at Crazy Mountain Ranch. Growth plans may include development projects throughout the United States and internationally.
Job Title: Associate, Investments
This hands-on analytical role supports evaluating real estate opportunities across the portfolio. The Associate will own or contribute to underwriting, due diligence, and financial modeling processes that inform investment decisions and capital allocation. You will work with internal teams (asset management, development, finance, accounting) and external consultants, capital partners, and counterparts.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and own detailed financial models to underwrite real estate investment and development opportunities as well as fund models
* Prepare and present investment materials for executive committee review
* Conduct market research and gather competitive intelligence to support underwriting assumptions and strategic planning
* Analyze asset-level performance, budgets, and forecasts with the asset management team
* Collaborate with external consultants and capital providers for debt and equity
* Own due diligence efforts, including review of legal, financial, and operational documents
* Assist in preparing materials for capital markets activities and investor updates
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to compile data, track timelines, and support transaction execution
* Organize and maintain data rooms, models, and supporting documentation for active and prospective investments
Skills & Qualifications
* 3-5 years of experience in real estate asset management, acquisitions, development, or finance
* Experience with debt and equity capital raise processes and structures
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Experience with real estate financial models or investment analysis
* Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* Effective communication and writing skills for internal and external presentations
* Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Education
* Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields as required
* Additional related experience would be considered in lieu of a completed degree program
