Our Centre of Excellence is seeking an experienced Anaesthetic / Recovery Practitioner, to undertake the role of Speciality Manager within Anaesthetics and Recovery.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team, we are looking to recruit a committed, passionate, highly motivated and dynamic individual to lead this established, enthusiastic and hardworking team and to develop our fast-growing Theatre Team. You must have excellent communication skills; work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and have the ability to lead alongside the Senior Management delivering high standards of care and providing first class patient service.

As the Anaesthetic and Recovery Speciality Manager you will be expected to undertake both clinical and non-clinical duties.

The post holder will be involved in attaining and reporting key performance indicators. The post holder will be responsible for staff deployment, supervision and teaching within the clinical areas and provide clinical and managerial leadership to Nursing/Operating Department Practitioners and support staff.

Essential criteria

1. Excellent leadership & interpersonal skills
2. Significant Clinical expertise in Anaesthetic & Recovery care in the Theatre environment at Band 6
3. Registered Nurse/ODP

4. Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm both personally and professionally
5. Effective decision maker within the Theatre Department
6. Effective Communicator

Experience

7. Experience of auditing
8. Experience of evaluating & applying guidelines and standards of practice
9. Experience of monitoring sickness & absence
