Job Description

Senior Landscape Architect

Bristol, United Kingdom

We are seeking a talented Senior Landscape Architect to join our 17 strong team of landscape designers and landscape planners, to be based in our Bristol office with flexible and hybrid working options available. You will be working on a variety of projects including landscape assessment and strategy, LVIA, green infrastructure strategies, concept design, master planning, detailed design, landscape management, visualisations and 3D modelling, working with a wider team of environmental and engineering specialists.

We have a variety of projects across the UK and internationally, ranging in scale from green infrastructure design and major transportation projects through to restoration, town centre regeneration, streetscape design and large-scale renewable energy and transmission projects.

Ramboll has a large in house environmental team and we work collaboratively with other disciplines to find effective, original design solutions. Ramboll places great weight on our ability to combine skills to find solutions for complex or unusual problems, develop long term relations with our clients and help our clients create sustainable and resilient places.

Your new role

You will be working in a collaborative and supportive environment where, as a Senior Landscape Architect, you will be expected to design and assess projects creatively, innovatively, and develop optimum outcomes for people, nature, and the environment.

As Senior Landscape Architect your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

1. Leading and coordinating landscape team input to projects

2. Providing support to landscape team leadership

3. Desk-based analysis, research, data collection and interpretation

6. Leading client and project team, and stakeholder events/meetings

7. Working collaboratively with the wider landscape team and mentoring junior staff

8. Ensuring delivery of high-quality and technically accurate work

9. Landscape input to fee proposals and tender submissions

10. Utilising and exploring digital tools for improved efficiency and quality

About you

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of industry standards and professional practice, be diligent, proactive and motivated, and flexible. The ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and project teams is essential. By the nature of the role, the candidate will need to be well organised, have good communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

11. Masters/Post-Graduate degree from a Landscape Institute accredited course

12. Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute

13. Ability to work successfully and build relationships with colleagues and other consultants in the delivery of high quality and robust outputs

15. Numerically competent

16. Well organised and able to prioritise and manage their own workload with minimal supervision

17. Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office, GIS software, Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk packages and/or Revit

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: design ability; an analytical approach; an understanding of other environmental and engineering disciplines capabilities; an interest and flexibility to work on a wide range of projects at all stages; working as a key member of the national landscape and environment teams in the delivery of projects; and the ability to work dynamically, not only with your own team – but also with different teams or experts across Ramboll and external clients and consultant organisations.

What we can offer you

18. Commitment to your development

19. Leaders guided by our Leadership Principles

20. A culture that welcomes you as the unique person you are

21. Inspiration from colleagues, clients, and projects

22. The long-term thinking of a foundation-owned company
