Job Description:
At AMG in Forth Valley, we are expanding our talented and dynamic general practice nurse team and are interested in receiving applications from advanced GPNs, preferably with prescribing qualifications. We work collaboratively across close-knit multi-professional teams to provide quality healthcare to the populations we serve. Our team is supported by GP clinical leads and nurse consultants, with regular education and personal development opportunities.
AMG aims to enable communities to have healthy lives by providing high-quality, innovative, and sustainable primary care services delivered by motivated and engaged teams. We recognize the central role of the general practice nurse within this goal and offer opportunities for nurses to develop to their full potential. Our Forth Valley Practices serve 28,500 patients across four sites in Falkirk, Alloa, Bannockburn, and Grangemouth.
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals interested in managing long-term conditions, health promotion, cervical screening, and women's health. The role is varied, requiring the ability to work independently, with a flexible approach and excellent communication skills. Nurses may work at any of our four sites, with a main base at Bannockburn (Stirling), and cross-site working is encouraged to familiarize with different patients and teams.
We are committed to Continuing Professional Development, supporting nurses new to GPN through NHS Education for Scotland (NES) training, advanced practice skills, and daily in-house mentoring. We are building a knowledge-sharing platform via MS Teams, with professional development plans, regular team huddles, and annual appraisals.
Career development at AMG is excellent, especially for Level 7 Advanced GPNs, who provide leadership, mentoring, and expertise in long-term conditions. The role enables nurses with ANP and GPN experience to deliver excellent care, including complex needs management for multimorbidity, within the team and secondary care settings. We support work towards developing advanced-level general practice nurses aligned with Scottish Government initiatives.
We offer flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance, supported by administrative staff, office supervisors, and a multidisciplinary team including GPs, ANPs, paramedics, physician associates, healthcare assistants, MSK practitioners, mental health nurses, and pharmacists. Competitive salary and attractive terms and conditions. Informal enquiries are welcome.
